Join our Team:  Technical Coordinator/Manager

We are a Developer / Land Promoter, seeking to appoint a technical coordinator / manager to manage and assist all technical matters relating to land, planning and construction.

This is a newly created role and offers the successful applicant the opportunity to be an integral part of the Reside business and assist the company with our ambitious growth plans for the future.

The job specification is set out below in detail however it’s the intention that the successful applicant will have overall responsibility for all technical matters within the business from land and planning through to the construction of our sites.

The primary responsibilities will be;

  • Assist the Land Department with the pre-acquisition technical investigations and management of consultants on new land opportunities, which will include topographical surveys, utility appraisals, ground investigations, access design etc.

  • Take overall responsibility for pre-purchase sign-off on all new opportunities, including the management of budgets for technical reports, culminating in a technical hand-over pack.

  • Following exchange of contracts, assisting the Planning Department in the preparation of further reports such as drainage surveys, ecological surveys and transport assessments to support planning promotion and/or an application.

  • On completion of the above reports prepare a technical constraints plan to enable site layouts and masterplans to be prepared.

  • Appointment of external technical consultants for land, planning and detailed design and management, thereafter to include ongoing management of budgets.

  • Working with the land and planning departments to value engineer consultants’ designs to bring buildability and commerciality to the business.

  • Where required attend project team meetings on relevant sites

  • Report at the monthly land and planning meeting on all technical related issues on new and existing sites.

  • Prepare and submit discharge of conditions in conjunction with the Planning Director.

  • Prepare and submit RM applications in conjunction with the Planning Director.

  • Managing sectional agreements from strategy, design, submission, approval to engrossment

  • Following the grant of planning, if the site is be disposed of produce a technical sales pack and manage all technical queries arising from prospective purchasers.


Where sites are developed 

  • Managing drainage designs

  • Co-ordinating detailed designs / building regulations to suit build programmes and sequence;

  • To have and maintain a general understanding of utility designs and procurement;

  • Close liaison with the commercial team to ensure cost control and assisting with groundwork contractors, scope of works and project specific contracts;

  • Ensuring the company fulfils its obligations under CDM and Health & Safety legislation with regards to engineering;

  • To attend, and where necessary chair, internal and external meetings.

  • Keep abreast of all technical and legislative matters pertinent to the role.

Join our Team:  Planner/Senior Planner


An exciting opportunity to join an energetic and proactive company. Reside Developments are seeking a qualified Town Planner who has the drive and experience to manage strategic housing sites through the promotion and delivery stages of the planning system.

Job Function:                     


As the Planner/Senior Planner you will responsible for co-ordinating the delivery of both strategic and immediate development sites, from the early stages of appraisal and promotion, through to emerging local plans, with the allocated sites then requiring further progression with the submission of planning applications.  In partnership with its construction division Reside also develops its own portfolio of housing and there will be the opportunity for the right candidate to work further to help develop this area of the business.


Together with the Planning Director you will:

  • Promote strategic sites through the ‘call for sites’ process, emerging neighbourhood plans and active local plan stages.

  • Co-ordinate the preparation and submission of planning applications, associated environmental and sustainable assessments and appeal    where required.

  • Manage consents and the discharging of conditions.

  • Represent the company at site visits, local authority meetings, public consultations and other stakeholder engagements.

  • Manage budgets and consultants throughout the design and planning

  • process.

  • Appraise future sites on behalf of the land team


About You:


  • You must have gained a minimum of two years post professional Town Planning experience, ideally with a consultancy and/or developer.

  • Some local authority experience would be desirable.

  • You should hold a degree and/or Masters in Town Planning related studies.

  • Full membership of the RTPI.

  • You must hold a full UK driving licence.




You will be working with a highly professional, experienced and focused team and you will need to be able to adapt and prioritise to suit the workload.  As well as working as part of a team you will also need to possess the confidence to work on your own initiative, network and have excellent communication skills for meetings and presentations.
